Vineyard: a steep south-facing site below Ulli Stein's house that is depicted on his label as a logo. Soil: deep top soil in iron-rich red slate; good water reserves. Vinification: skin contact; cool wild- and added yeast fermentation on fine lees in an old 30-hl barrel; no fining. Notes: a non-chapitalized, dry-fermented Riesling.
