Winninger Uhlen Riesling Spätlese trocken

Vineyard: ca. 40-year-old vines from spread-out plots as well as higher terraces going 80 meters up. Soil: diverse (bigger) slate, hard iron-rich sandstone, limestone, and quartzite; wild terrain. Vinification: skin contact, wild-yeast fermentation on fine lees; no fining. Notes: Uhlen makes for salty, austere, and long-lived wines.
