Uhlen can comfortably and confidently make its case as one of the Mosel’s greatest and most imposing sites. The vineyard looks wild and alive, and from its stony blue-gray slate and iron-rich sandstone soils, Knebel produces deeply mineral (oftentimes salty), serious, and age-worthy wines.
